Courses “Express”
We all know that the best way to improve, or at least to maintain your level, is by practicing your oral comprehension and fluency skills. These days there are many different ways to practice your language of choice, depending on your free time, interests and hobbies.
Englishjet has created a series of 15-hour express courses that allow you to practice your language skills and connect with people who have the same interests as you. We offer a series of courses that deal with very specific subjects, we also offer a space where you can exchange ideas about things that matter to you. At the same time, you can learn to use a more informal language and to practice your fluency and oral comprehension using colloquial language.
Mini Intensives
These courses focus entirely on improving fluency and oral comprehension skills so that the participants can quickly brush up on grammar concepts and learn new vocabulary.
What you can expect from this course:
- You will clarify doubts, refresh your grammar and vocabulary and build confidence before an important event like a work trip or professional presentation.
- Speak with more confidence and ease, as a result of practical and dynamic participation in class.
- You will use materials that combine grammar exercises and vocabulary, reading, videos, and games, to improve your fluency while speaking throughout the sessions.
Levels: B1 to C2
Job interview Preparation
Interviews are complicated in any language. Being well prepared is essential so that on the day of your interview you are relaxed and confident.
This course is designed to help participants prepare the whole process of being interviewed for a job in English. The courses are 12 to 15 hours. We will explore all the aspects of the interview process.
What we can expect from this course:
- You will go over questions and formulate the answers to some of the most common interview questions. Your instructor will help you form your answers so that you can highlight your professional experience and communicate your answers in a fluent and complete manner.
- You will improve your ability to speak about your professional experience using technical vocabulary appropriate for your sector.
- You will practice both formal and informal greetings, and review typical conversation topics to have a fluent conversation with your interviewers.
- You will participate in role plays in class. This will help you arrive at the interview well prepared and relaxed.
- We will also help you prepare or update your CV and presentation letter in English.
Levels: B1 to C2
Public Speaking and presentations
Everybody, at some point, will find themselves in a position where they have to make some kind of speech or presentation, whether it is with a client, or at an informal gathering or meeting. Nevertheless, this can make some people very nervous. We have designed this course to help you improve your ability to plan, organize and execute a presentation, or to talk in front of a group of people, be it a speech at a wedding, a presentation in a meeting room, or by video conference.
What you can expect from this course:
- You will practice techniques to help you to present your ideas clearly and precisely.
- You will participate in role-plays dealing with different kinds of presentations in different contexts.
- You will learn the vocabulary you need to link your ideas and connect them to different concepts.
- You will practice how to answer unexpected questions, direct a debate or encourage conversation between various participants.
- You will cultivate your abilities to integrate complementary materials such as PowerPoint slides in your presentations.
Levels: B2 to C2
Music
This is a fun course where you can practice your language skills using something that brings us all together: MUSIC. These are entertaining and participative sessions using songs that represent a wide variety of genres and artists.
What you can expect from this course:
- You will listen to and analyze song lyrics and styles.
- You will learn new vocabulary.
- You will go over the lyrics of the songs with particular emphasis on the grammar content.
Series
These sessions are a fun and unusual way to focus on a season of a popular TV series.
What you can expect from this course:
- All participants will watch an episode of a popular TV series. All participants will have already seen the selected episode before the session.
- We will analyze the different characters, talk about their roles and contributions, and discuss the episode’s plot, and settings.
- We will learn new vocabulary and expressions from the episodes.
Politics and current affairs
Dynamic and participative sessions focused on analyzing and debating topics in the news.
What you can expect from this course:
- We will use articles, videos, and other materials from the international press as class content.
- Each session will include a debate concerning a subject that will be moderated by the instructor.
- We will learn new vocabulary and idiomatic expressions related to the events covered.
Documentaries
Dynamic and informative sessions based on documentaries related to science and technology.
What you can expect from this course:
- Before the course begins you will receive a list of documentaries (all available online). All participants must watch the selected documentary before the session.
- We will learn technical vocabulary in the context of the documentary.
- We will analyse and discuss the subject, plot and location of the documentaries.
- As a final project, each participant will give a presentation on the subject of a documentary of your choice.
